East Galveston Bay, Bolivar Peninsula Fishing Report

We spent most of the week on the shorelines to try and stay away from the wind.  The shorelines along Bolivar Peninsula have been holding reds, flounder, speckled trout, and even some nice sized sand trout.  A few big bull reds and some solid flounder were also mixed in.  Live shrimp under a popping cork about 2 feet deep has been the bait of choice.  We hit the bay reefs any time that the wind would allow.  There have been quite a few places where we worked the birds also. In the coming weeks, as the weather and the water cools, the big flounder should be moving in.  It seems that everything has been running a little late this year.  Until next week, see you on the water.
