East Galveston Bay, Bolivar Peninsula Fishing Report

Wind slowed fishing on the coast over the last week.  Some good numbers of red fish along with fair numbers of trout in the marsh drains out of the wind.  Tides are running very high first thing in the morning but falling by mid-morning.  We used live shrimp under a popping cork fishing 2 feet deep.  Flounder along the intercoastal are still going good also with mud-minnows and Gulps.  We are still catching good numbers of big bull reds around the Bolivar Ferry and Fort Travis.  Water in the open bay has been off color but should clear quickly.  The bird action in East Bay should be in full swing when the water clears and the wind lays.  Live bait is still available on Bolivar Peninsula at most bait camps.  Until next week, see you on the water.
