Well, last week was the best five days of fishing we have had in a row due to all of the recent rains. Bay reefs were loaded with nice trout and we used live croaker - just free-lining them. From Smith's Point to French's Reef was good fishing. We still have birds working but some fish were running just legal size. Soft plastics are going very good also. Just remember to work them slow because the bay still has fresh water on top. The same thing applies with the live baits also. If the wind stays down and stays out of the SSE, fishing will stay consistent. The areas along Bolivar Peninsula around Fort Travis is holding good numbers of trout and reds along the rocks. Live shrimp has been hard to keep alive because of the fresh water run-offs. On Bolivar Peninsula, bait camps have been out of bait by 7:00 am every morning so call ahead before you make that run across. Water is still off-color on any tide movement. Just look for the tide lines of clear and dirty and fish those areas. Until next week, see you on the water.
