East Galveston Bay, Bolivar Peninsula Fishing Report

Last week brought lots of rainy days and not a lot of fishing for most coastal anglers.  When we were able to get out, we fished the shorelines and marsh drains.  Fair numbers of trout and the occasional red were brought in by those patient enough to fish a spot and move a little until you hit the right place.  It was not every cast by any means but it was pretty consistent.  We have been using live shrimp under a popping cork since live croaker are still very hard to come by on Bolivar Peninsula and the ones being caught are running pretty small.  Hopefully, the heavy rains will move out and we can get back into our regular summer patterns.  Things should turn around quickly if the weather will hold.  Until next week, see you on the water.
