East Galveston Bay, Bolivar Peninsula Fishing Report

Mother nature had the upper hand for most of the week forcing anglers to dodge the rain and hide from the wind.  It was a week much like the one before and we fished the shorelines and marsh drains most of the time.  Live croaker are still pretty scarce on Bolivar Peninsula and when the bait camps do have them, they are pretty small.  Remember to call before you make the drive. The bait of choice this week was live shrimp under a popping cork and some soft plastics.  The one day that the weatherman put an 80% chance of rain in the forecast was the best day fishing of the week and not a drop of rain.  We brought in a nice box of solid trout. Don't forget that the CCA STAR Tournament ends on Labor Day but there is still time to get out there and catch that winning fish. That truck and boat package or that scholarship is only one cast away. Until next week, see you on the water.
