East Galveston Bay, Bolivar Peninsula Fishing Report

Weather is just about perfect for coastal anglers.  Light winds and morning tides made it even better.  We have been fishing with live croakers at well pads along the ship channel.  The croakers are being free-lined with just enough weight to keep them down close to the shell.  Good numbers (in the 3 to 4 lb range) are thick with calm winds.  Just try different well heads until you hit a good bite or two then get anchored.  East Bay reefs are holding good numbers of bigger trout with some nice reds.  Both live shrimp and live croaker are paying off.  Just fish the shrimp about 3 ft deep under your popping cork.  Another area that is producing is Fort Travis - trout and flounder are being caught near the rocks.  Remember to take a kid fishing.  Until next week, see you on the water.
