East Galveston Bay, Bolivar Peninsula Fishing Report

It's that time of the year.  Our fall fishing is in full swing in Galveston Bay.  Great numbers of nice trout are showing up on bay reefs along with some nice reds.  Bird action is going hot and heavy in East Bay but you have to work different sets to find the keepers.  We are fishing with live shrimp under a popping cork about 3 ft deep.  Look for big schools of mullet and slicks.  The south shoreline is holding great numbers of nice slot reds in the 21-25 inch range along with a lot of nice keeper trout on live shrimp also.  Just fish the opening to the marsh and along the salt grass.  The flounder are stacking up around Siever's Cut into the intracoastal canal and should just get better with the passing cool front this week.  Rollover as green water passing through it and the bank bite is going good for big reds and flounder.  Until next week, see you on the water.
