East Galveston Bay, Bolivar Peninsula Fishing Report

Despite high wind and some rain, fishing in East Galveston Bay was great along the south shoreline from Siever's Cut to Marsh Point.  We found good numbers of keeper trout and slot reds (21-27 inches) with a bull red or two mixed in.  We fished the marsh drains on high tides using live shrimp under a popping cork about 2ft deep right up against the salt grass and muddy shell.  There are some small trout mixed in but just keep moving.  Look for the shrimp busting the water and bait fish in the marsh.  The flounder action in the intracoastal is going good.  Numbers are picking up and should bust wide open with the passing of this front.  Rollover is also producing good numbers of reds and flounder from the bank.  Until next time, see you on the water.
