East Galveston Bay, Bolivar Peninsula Fishing Report

Well, it's that time of year when out weather along the coast changes every other day.  Last week we had strong winds and low tides and this week, it was the sea fog for most of the week.  The few days that the weather was right, fishing was only fair to good. We have had fair numbers of reds along with a few trout roaming the mouths of the marsh drains using soft plastics and live shrimp.  If the weather stays stable and the tides remain high, look for fishing to improve in the weeks to come.  With the warm early days, look for fish to come out of the winter patterns early this year.  There are shrimp about 1/2 inch long in front of my house around Siever's Cut so it won't be long before they enter the bay and fishing will turn on.  Spring Break is right around the corner - take a kid fishing.  Until next week, see you on the water.
