East Galveston Bay, Bolivar Peninsula Fishing Report

WOW!!  What a week of fishing in East Galveston Bay.  It is Red Hot!  With good tides and light winds most of the week, fishing was great.  We had real good numbers of nice trout in the 17-24 inch range and reds in the 22-26 inch range on bay reefs and shorelines.  Water is in great shape and we have schools of small shad showing up on the reefs and the south shoreline.  We are still using live shrimp under a popping cork about 4 feet deep.  The reds are thick along the shorelines around shell coming of the salt grass.  Water temp is about 68-69 degrees and the fish like it.  Now is the time to come on down and hop in the boat.  Fishing should just get better and better in the weeks to come.  Until next week, see you on the water.
