With good morning tides and light S-SE winds, set the picture for some really good fishing. We have been fishing the bay reefs and shorelines in East Galveston Bay. The reefs are holding good numbers of trout in the 16-20 inch range along with a red or two. Our bait of choice is still live shrimp under a popping cork about 3 ft. deep. We are looking for schools of small mullet and slicks. When the tide is moving in or out, we have found that the fish are holding on the mud and shell mix on the edge of the reefs. There are a lot of black drum cruising the reefs as well. The south shoreline is holding great numbers of slot reds in the 21-27 inch range along with some nice trout and flounder. The water is in great shape and fish are biting good. The Rollover Pass area is producing some good number of big reds, trout, and black drum for the waders along the cut. The water temp is just right and the winds are light so come on down and I'll get the boat ready. Until next week, see you on the water.
