East Galveston Bay, Bolivar Peninsula Fishing Report

Strong winds slowed fishing some but we had some great boxes of fish last week.  Water along the south shoreline is holding green and the fish were there.  We fished the bayous and marsh drains with live shrimp under a popping cork about 2 ft. deep.  We had good numbers of nice trout in the 16-18 inch range and great numbers of big reds in the 25-27 inch range as well as a few bull reds. Just find the little shad along the shoreline and just wait them out.  Also the flounder action is getting better and better.  Look for bay reefs to heat back up when the wind lays down.  The waders around Rollover Pass are picking up some nice trout and reds on the incoming tides with some big black drum also.  Fishing overall has been great so come on down.  Live bait is available on the peninsula.  Until next week, see you on the water.
