East Galveston Bay, Bolivar Peninsula Fishing Report

Well, finally we had some good weather for fishing - wind wise.  But we did still have to run from rain showers.  The fishing has been red hot on the bay reefs in East Galveston Bay using live croaker.  We have had good numbers of nice trout in the 17-25 inch range with a red or two mixed in.  I have been drifting the live croaker behind the boat about 30 to 40 yards.  As our summer pattern gets going in full swing and the wind and weather settles even more, fishing should get even better on deeper reefs around the bay.  Also the surf on the beach front has been flat and the water is green to the shoreline and holding good numbers of trout and a lot of small sharks.  So, overall our fishing on Bolivar Peninsula is very good so come on down and hop in the boat or just fish the beach front. Until next week, see you on the water.
