East Galveston Bay, Bolivar Peninsula Fishing Report

Our fishing in Galveston bay is still red hot from the spill banks along the ship channel to bay reefs in East Galveston Bay.  We have had some good boxes of trout from around the bay system.  Our regular summer pattern is right on track.  We are fishing deeper well pads in 10 to 12 feet of water and the drop offs on the bay reefs.  Using live croaker with just a small chatter weight and a 4.0 wide gap hook is how we are rigging up.  Fishing should should remain good as long as the weather and wind stays stable.  We are also catching good numbers of nice trout along the Galveston Causeway Bridge at about the same water depth.  We will be fishing deeper areas until mid September.  The areas down by Rollover Pass are producing good numbers of reds and a few nice trout for the anglers that want to wade fish for them.  Live bait is available on Bolivar Peninsula but just call first.  Until next week, see you on the water.
