East Galveston Bay, Bolivar Peninsula Fishing Report

Water conditions have improved a lot over the past week.  With light winds and good tides, fishing has been good.  Bay reefs in East Galveston Bay have been producing great numbers of nice trout and reds on live croaker and shrimp fished deep on drop offs.  The bird action in the back of the bay has started but a lot of the trout are running small.  The red fishing along the south shoreline is heating up as well with keepers in the 22-24 inch range.  The Rollover Pass area has produced fair number of nice reds and a few flounder are showing up around Siever's Cut to the Ferry Landing area.  Fishing should just get better as we head into our fall patters as long as the weather cooperates.  Some live bait is available on Bolivar Peninsula but always call first.  Until next week, see you on the water.
