East Galveston Bay, Bolivar Peninsula Fishing Report

Thank God!! We dodge a bullet last week with the freezing temperatures along our coast. The water temperature got very close to that danger zone for our fish. I was out a day or so ago and caught some nice reds and a few trout in about 2 hours. On a good note, it was cold for a few days before the freezing temps hit our coast which allowed our fish to move out of the shallow water flats and into deeper holes for protection. With lighter south winds, water will be on the rise with strong tides and the fish will be back on the move. Look for fishing to rebound fast with no freezing temps for next week. Hopefully there won't be any more freezing temps. Until next week, see you on the water soon.
