East Galveston Bay, Bolivar Peninsula Fishing Report

Hello again from Crystal Beach Fishing. Last week we had to deal with bad sea fog every morning. But the good news is that by mid-morning, the sun broke through and the fishing was really good. The water temp has finally made it into the low 60's and getting better every day that we get sunshine. We had good numbers of nice trout in the 16-18 inch range on the outgoing tide. Bait of choice was live shrimp fished about 3ft under a popping cork on bay reefs in East Galveston Bay. Shorelines are holding a few reds and some small undersized trout. Spring Breakers can look forward to some good fishing in the weeks to come with a lot of action. Big drum and Sheepshead are on the move as well looking for a reel to strip some line off of. So don't get left sitting on the dock. Book your family trip now and get in on the fun. Until next week, see you on the water.
