East Galveston Bay, Bolivar Peninsula Fishing Report

Besides the nagging sea fog along the coast, our fishing is right on track for some great Spring Time fishing in East Bay. Water is in good shape and the water temp is hitting the mid 60's. The fishing is getting hot on bay reefs and shorelines. We had some good boxes of trout and reds along the south shoreline around small reefs and marsh drains fishing live shrimp about 2ft deep under a popping cork. Small mullet are staging along the salt grass and the fish are eating pretty aggressively. We had some trout in the 17-21 inch range and a lot of slot reds in the 22-24 inch range. The bird action is also starting to happen but hard to do with the fog. Spring Breakers can look forward to some good fishing as we head into our Spring pattern. We look forward to spending time with all of our fishing friends we have made over the years. Until next week, see you on the water.
