East Galveston Bay, Bolivar Peninsula Fishing Report

Fishing along the upper Texas coast is getting good as we head into our Spring fishing patterns in East Galveston Bay. The bird action is heating up in the back of the bay working schools of keeper trout and will get better as the water warms. Our bay reefs along the south side are in good shape and are holding some nice trout and reds when the wind will let you fish them. The water temp has finally hit that sweet spot in the upper 60's and is rising. Now let's talk about the shorelines. With the tides running high from the winds and moon, the fishing has busted wide open with great numbers of reds in the 22-25 inch range along with a big bull or two found in about 2 feet of water and some nice trout mixed in also. Lots of action with the big sheephead and drum in between the line peeling reds. Come on down and get in on the action! Days are filling up fast. Until next week, see you on the water.
