East Galveston Bay, Bolivar Peninsula Fishing Report

Last week's fishing was good right up to the passing of the little cool fronts. We had good numbers of nice slot reds and trout along the shorelines and marsh drains. As we head into our spring patterns, fishing and weather should just get better every day. The small reefs along the shorelines are holding a lot of bait fish for now and some large reds that love to strip some line! We are still fishing live shrimp under a popping cork about 2 ft deep and you just have to be patient and let the tide move in or out and they will eat. The bird action is slowly heating up on the northeast end of the bay and should just get better and the bay reefs will follow as the wind lays down. Live bait is available on the peninsula but always call first. We still have some days available in April and May so book your family fishing trip soon! Until next week, see you on the water.
