Fishing the upper Texas coast this time of year is very good but unpredictable with the little fronts still rolling down from the north. Last week was no different. We had the full moon and strong north wind for a day or so and then the fishing was right back to normal. The afternoon bite has been really good about 1 1/2 hours before sunset with good numbers of reds in the 21-25 inch range and some big trout (4-6 lb) and a lot of keepers (16-18 inches). We are using live shrimp under a popping cork along the shorelines and marsh drains. As we head into our spring patterns, look for a lot of bird action as the bay reefs heat up fast. Until next week, see you on the water.
