East Galveston Bay, Bolivar Peninsula Fishing Report

North winds hurt fishing in East Galveston Bay. Water muddied up after fronts hit last week. Fishing was only fair but should recover fast. Everything is in place for a great Spring bite when the weather stabilizes. Shorelines are holding a lot of bait fish. And the fish are there and have been are a few months now. We had a few days of good fishing with good numbers of trout and reds. Live shrimp is our choice of bait - fished under a popping cork. We had a few big trout in the 6 lb range that were released after a few good pictures. Live shrimp and croaker are available on the peninsula. Just a reminder - it's time to sign up your kids for the CCA STAR Tournament that will be starting soon. Until next week, see you on the water.
