East Galveston Bay, Bolivar Peninsula Fishing Report

As our cool fronts get weaker and the winds get lighter, the bird action is heating up. Good numbers of keeper trout are showing up under feeding birds on the far east end of the bay and should just get better. We have had fair faction on the north side working reefs along the shoreline using live shrimp under a popping cork. The open bay reefs are holding fair numbers but we need the weather to cooperate. Fishing, overall, is right on track as we head into May. Look for the croaker bite to get going good in the next few weeks. We like free-lining them as we drift over the bay reefs. You've got to try it - IT'S A BLAST!! So don't wait to the last minute to book your bay fishing trip for your family vacation. Until next week, see you on the water.
