East Galveston Bay, Bolivar Peninsula Fishing Report

The weather last week was good for anglers along the upper Texas coast. Water in East Galveston Bay is in good shape and fishing is really good on bay reefs. We had good numbers of nice trout in the 17 to 22 inch range with some big girls mixed in up to 7 lbs. We are using live shrimp under a popping cork fished about 3 feet deep. Just look for slicks and pods of shad. There is some bird action still going on late evenings. The shorelines are holding fair numbers of trout and some nice reds (20-22 inches). Look for our bay fishing to just get better as the wind lays down and stays more SE. Live bait is available on Bolivar Peninsula but, as always, call first. Until next week, see you on the water.
