East Galveston Bay, Bolivar Peninsula Fishing Report

All we need is some sunny days and some good tides. As we head into March, we are out scouting the bay for you. The shorelines and marsh drains in East Galveston Bay are holding good numbers of nice reds (21-25 inches) and fair numbers of keeper trout (16-18 inches). We just find schools of small mullet and the fish won't be far. We are using live shrimp fished under a popping cork about 2 feet deep. Flounder action is fair around same areas mentioned above. As water warms, look for fishing to just get better and better. Spring Break is right around the corner so book your family's bay fishing trip soon. Live shrimp is available on the peninsula but call first.

Until next week, see you on the water.
