Shoreline and marsh drains have been very productive, especially a few hours before sunset, with nice reds and trout. Live shrimp under a popping cork is the bait of choice.

Fishing was slow in the mornings due to low tides but late morning and afternoon trips brought in nice boxes of slot reds and trout. Big bull reds also were landed for pictures and then released to fight another day.

Water continues to warm as we get into our Spring fishing pattern. When the wind allows you to fish them, the bay reefs are holding some nice trout and reds. The shorelines have been very productive with trout, reds, and large sheephead.

Once the thick morning sea fog burned off, the fishing in East Bay turned on. Fishing along the South Shoreline of East Bay, we caught some nice trout, slot reds, and some flounder.

Fish are becoming more active now that the water temperatures are over 60 degrees. Spring Breakers should enjoy some great fishing as the weather continues to improve.

Even though the water conditions are good in East Galveston Bay, the water temperatures are still in the mid 50's and that is making the fish very sluggish.
